Ok, HTML is Hyper-Text Markup Language, it's a really simple language and whatever you have written is what it shows. PLSQL is a language that interacts with a database (think of it as a drawer with info inside it) and grabs the info it wants. If you set it to, it can act like HTML or you can use it in conjunction with a SQL program to get it to show information that can be ordered and/or selected. So you can change stuff in the database and then it will show up on the page without changing any coding.

Yeah just not sure what Spook wants, whether he can be bothered to link the MOTD to an SQL database or not. Also, I havent played around with CSS much so not sure whether thats possible, tho it should be. I do know however that he tried to write the MOTD in HTML but got either a syntax error or a glitch in CSS that wont let him upload it/wont display correctly.

Now that hes back maybe we'll get onto it

CS:S supports simple html.

I can make a simple system using PHP and a MYSQL database and have it display everything in a format CS:S supports.

If you want me to start working on it tell me it will only take 10min to set up

Hey grim got any advice for me? I'm about to start uni next month doing a degree that involves programming. What programming language(s) should i have a look at to get a leg up on the competition (could be like how a dog lifts his leg up).

When I did my TAFE course they taught C#(love it) and JAVA(hate it), there easy to understand, just google some tutorials

Also the tutorials i have found on the internet kinda suck for any programming language except html. They force you to rely too heavily on it and you cannot troubleshoot any problems. You can use forums except they take forever to respond and half the posts are fake or just people trolling. I saw one forum where a guy was asking about his code and one guy suggested a way to fix it then to make another script that deleted the coding. The guy replied 2 days later insulting the guy who made the suggestion. It was funny but you would have to read it and i cannot find it anymore
